Choosing your ferrule

Which shaft tip size do I need?

Our ferrules come in two tip sizes: 0.355″ and 0.370″. Measure the diameter of your shaft tip with calipers and choose the matching size. Not sure? Email us at customerservice@hoselandhue.com before you order and we'll help you sort it out.

What size are the ferrules?

Every ferrule is 25 mm tall.

Collared or non-collared?

Collared gives precise alignment on any shaft, and on graphite shafts it also adds a protective plastic cushion between the shaft and the metal hosel. It works great when the hosel's inner lip is countersunk; if it isn't, a collared ferrule can be tricky to seat flush.

Non-collared seats flush whether or not the hosel is countersunk, since there's no lip to clear, but it can be harder to align dead center.

What's the difference between matte and glossy?

Both are the same shape and fit. Glossy is smooth with a light sheen ($2.95 each). Matte has a softer, slightly rougher texture with no shine ($2.75 each).

Can I add a name or logo?

Possibly! Our standard designs are color bands, but we're open to custom work such as names or logos. Reach out through our Contact page with what you have in mind and we'll let you know what's possible.

Installing and finishing

How do I install my ferrule?

You'll need two-part epoxy and a clean cloth. Masking tape is optional. These are general steps, so follow the directions on your epoxy too.

  1. Remove the old ferrule and clean any old epoxy from the shaft tip and the hosel.
  2. Dry-fit first: slide the ferrule on with no epoxy to check the fit and how it seats.
  3. If you like, wrap masking tape around the hosel just below the ferrule to protect the finish.
  4. Mix a small amount of epoxy and spread a thin, even coat on the shaft tip.
  5. Slide the ferrule on with a slight twist until it seats against the hosel. A collared ferrule's collar sits down into the hosel's countersunk lip.
  6. Wipe away any squeeze-out right away with a clean cloth and check that the ferrule sits centered.
  7. Let the epoxy cure completely, as directed on its package, before you use the club.
Can I sand my ferrule?

Yes, a little. If you want the ferrule to blend flush with your hosel, you can lightly sand it with fine-grit sandpaper. Go slowly with light pressure, and don't work one spot too long. The color bands are thin. Sanding will also take the shine down on a glossy ferrule.

Quality

Will every ferrule be exactly identical?

Not down to the last hair. 3D printing always has a slight variance from piece to piece. That's why we hand-polish and measure every single ferrule before it ships.

Is there a minimum order?

No minimum. Shipping is a flat $8.50, and orders of 10 or more ferrules ship free.
